Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide variety of conditions. The body is viewed as an integrated whole and each treatment is seen as an individual prescription for the patient being treated.

What is Acupunture?

There are 360 different points over the body. Each one can help to alleviate ailments linked to both physical and mental wellbeing.

These exist along 12 Meridians or Channels within the body, and are all ultimately linked. If one part of a Channel is “blocked” by physical or emotional injury, Energies or “Qi" cannot travel around all the Channels as successfully. Needles direct the flow of Qi to trigger your body’s healing response and to restore physical, emotional and mental harmony.

Meet your therapist

My name is Alison Crawford and I have been interested in alternative therapies for a number of years and the benefits they can bring into our lives along side traditional Western medicine. I believe there is a place for both. I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Acupuncture and am a Five Elements practitioner. My needling technique is delicate and nurturing - I am acutely aware of how sensitive individuals may be to needles.
