Reflexology

Reflexology is a relaxing therapy which uses pressure point massage to the feet to work individual ‘reflexes’ which correspond to different parts of the body. This helps ease congestion and ‘dis-ease’ within the body, promotes energy flow and restores the body’s natural balance or ‘homeostasis’.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy and has its origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine. During a treatment, you relax in a reclining chair whilst the therapist uses massage to work ‘reflexes’ on the feet. This helps to remove energy blockages and promotes healing throughout the body.

Benefits of Reflexology

Reflexology works on the body as a ‘whole’. It is a therapy that can promote a state of deep relaxation. It can improve your physical and mental well-being and is completely non-invasive and drug free.

Relieves stress and anxiety

One of the primary effects of Reflexology is that it is deeply relaxing. When both the body and the mind are relaxed, the body can start to heal itself. Reflexology is effective in re-balancing the hormonal system which includes the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol.

Improves circulation

Reflexology improves both cardiovascular and lymphatic circulation within the body. It stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which encourages blood flow to all the organs of the body and lowers blood pressure.

Cleanse toxins and boost the immune system

Massage has been proven to increase the production of white blood cells which helps the body fight diseases. It also helps to flush toxins.

I see Nicky once a month for Reflexology, and I couldn’t recommend her enough! She is very kind and gentle. She takes the time to listen and adapts the treatment to my needs. I immediately feel comfortable and relaxed around her. Having Reflexology has been a big help for me not only because it is deeply relaxing, but it has also helped to calm my anxiety.

Thank you Nicky for always making me feel better
